Mixed media sculpture
175 x 28 x 28 cm
This work is a commentary on the conservative and static nature of public sculpture. The artist creates a provocative reimagining of the traditional bust, imbued with multiple layers of symbolism. The materials used—wood, screws, perforated metal pieces, threads, fluorescent spray paint, joint sealant, stones, and plastic water bottles—reflect the complexity of the real-life labyrinth. The fusion of natural and man-made "eternal" materials reinforces the idea of interaction between nature and human ingenuity. At the same time, it serves as a feminist commentary on the minimal number—just 5%—of busts in Athens dedicated to women, historical figures who have contributed to the country.
